We are excited to announce the release of fylm.ai 2.2 update which brings a host of new and improved features. Let’s dive in and learn more…
Tetrahedral interpolation tool
Tetrahedral interpolation tool allows you to create advanced three dimensional colour grades with minimal impact on image’s quality. It allows you to control the saturation, luminance, hue and density of your image that better represent the much-desired, film-like characteristics while not having to worry about potential artifacts, banding or other technical limitations of HSL tools.
Tetrahedral interpolation operates in a way that takes advantage of the geometric properties of colors in a three-dimensional space, represented by the RGB color model. Instead of adjusting hue, saturation, and luminance independently, tetrahedral interpolation considers the spatial relationships between colors, allowing for smoother transitions.
In a tetrahedral setup, colors are represented as vertices of a tetrahedron. When interpolating between colors, this method calculates intermediate colors based on their relative positions within the tetrahedron, ensuring that the blending process respects the perceptual distances between colors. This leads to more visually appealing gradients and reduces the risk of color banding, which can occur with simple HSL adjustments.

Improved AI Colour Match
fylm.ai 2.2. introduces improved AI Colour Match that’s smarter and produces significantly better results compared to the previous version. AI Colour Match uses completely new AI colour matching models that have been trained from the ground up to better understand the context of different colour grades.
Improved AI Auto Correct
fylm.ai 2.2 introduces improved AI Auto Correct tool which automatically color balances your images and prepares them for further creative color grading. AI Auto Correct uses completely new AI colour correction models that have been trained from the ground up to better understand the context of different colour grades.
Dedicated skin tone editor
2.2 features a dedicated skin tone editor tool which allows you to easily control the hue, saturation and luminance of skin tones in your images. The tool’s range is limited to skin tones for more precise control under various conditions.
Improved Raw files handling
fylm.ai 2.2 introduces enhanced handling of large raw files and a 20% speed boost for faster opening times, making your workflow more efficient than ever.
Guest Downloads
We’re excited to announce Guest Downloads that allow Guests to download high-resolution, colour-graded images, expanding access beyond Collaborators and making it easier for the free-to-add Guests to obtain the files they need.
Slightly restyled tools menu
fylm.ai 2.2 introduces Legacy Tools tab where the legacy versions of different tools can be found in case you want to keep using the older version of AI Colour Match, AI auto Correct and others.
AI Colour Match replaces AI Colour Extract
AI Colour Extract and AI Colour Match have always been very close one to the other in functionality and results. The new AI Colour Match replaces AI Colour Extract and now one tool does the job. Simpler, quicker.
Slightly redesigned Technical Colour Match
Technical Colour Match has slightly been redesigned. Now, when you use the Technical Colour Match, you will be offered only the preset looks from which you can select the best one. If you wish to adjust the different settings of the Technical Colour Match tool, you should use the newly available Advanced Technical Colour Match tool and dial in the parameters to your liking.
To get the new update, no action from user is required and you will be on the latest version as soon as you reload the app.
